Glory roadmovie poster11/13/2022 ![]() I suppose if you're alright with a peer regarding Space Jam in higher prestige than Citizen Kane, then you have upheld your argument. GLORY ROADMOVIE POSTER MOVIEIf art is subjective as most tend to agree, then someone could potentially find more artistic expression in a movie like Space Jam over Citizen Kane. One might say that Citizen Kane separates itself by its larger amount of artistic expression, but then we run into the problem of defining what art is. One concern that emerges from your approach is that it requires movies such as Space Jam to be given the same legitimacy as Citizen Kane despite the fact that they're obviously just a commercial cash-grab. However, as I stated, this is a class assignment. Humans, for whatever reason, are too often compelled to force objectivity into something that is entirely subjective. *The moral or ethic does not have to be agreeable, directly stated, proven true (in the film), or even make sense it just has to resonate in the audience's mind. Special effects should be used appropriately, when they compliment the emotion of each scene and support the setting. GLORY ROADMOVIE POSTER PROFESSIONALSpecial Effects: The film visuals must maintain a professional quality and stimulate the audience. If those two aspects contradict each other, diagetic and non-diagetic soundtracks should each support a separate element in opposition to the other.Ĭomposition: Everything must be arranged in a comprehensive manner that upholds the story. Sound should compliment the visuals, but also help convey the emotion of each scene. Soundtrack: I heavily subscribe to the adage "music is the language of the soul". The scenery should be pleasing to the eye while not detracting from the main focus of the scene. Good Setting: The characters must be placed inside an environment that contributes to their actions and interactions while also emphasizing the themes and moods of the film. Actions and interactions should be believable, plausible, and at least somewhat relatable. as they are in real-word settings despite controversial themes. Realism/Accuracy: A great film should portray events, people, etc. Profound Message: Within the story there should be brought to light a particular moral or ethic.* The actors must convince the audience they are the characters they're portraying, and the camera crew must capture the scenes in a manner that best illustrates the story. Good Actors/Good Cinematography: No matter how great a job the writers did coming up with a story, it must be properly executed. Some amount of creativity and innovation should invent never-before-seen content. Originality: The film must present some new concept or idea that has hardly been explored by its predecessors. Suspense: Some element of the film must keep the audience on edge and make them eagerly anticipate a resolution. Good Story: A great movie must have a good plot that tells both an intriguing and unusual story. The following is what I think define a "great film". My class was assigned to come up with a list of 10 ingredients necessary for a "great film". ![]()
